North Carolina vs California on music

Growing up in North Carolina, theres a real sincerity towards music..you just played music wherever you could..then I remember moving out to California and having this different sense of, “Oh what you pay to play at a place?”

Benefits of being a solo artist

I guess you can make decisions on your own a little quicker you don’t have to think about 3 or 4 people’s lives…Meanwhile, you can just call up the greatest drummer in town, he usually wants to work like they all do, and say hey I got a gig on the 18th..and then if you’re still playing with him 20 gigs later then maybe you’ve got a band.

Singer/Songwriter Melissa Polinar is one of the most versatile musicians around.  She mixes popular soul, jazz, blues, pop and some folk in a combination of vocals, keyboards, guitar, and violin.  We caught up with her when she was in town and had her perform an exclusive acoustic performance for one of her original songs.
