Caught MellowHype and Trash Talk at Check Yo Ponytail 2 last night. MellowHype is the non de plume of LA natives Gerard Damien Long and Vyron Dalyan Turner who’re also apart of the Odd Future collective. Their set was great, albeit short, and security was not lax throughout the whole night as the building was about to collapse from wall to wall mosh pits and front flip stage dives.
I got there just in time to see Trash Wang go HAM on these kids.
Somersaults and canonballs into the crowd were nonstop all night.
Don’t piss Left Brain off…the show almost shut down because he was about to throw down a security guard who gave him the awkward eye.
Hodgy Beats taking a smoke break while Left Brain cooled off. The kids wouldn’t stop chanting “HODGY! Pass the blunt this way!”
Tyler the Creator was in the house. He’s been staying low pro these days but you can catch him at most Odd Future functions.
Christian Clancy, Frank Ocean, and Earl Sweatshirt were also kicking it on stage showing support for their compadres.
